Do You Like Pina Coladas and Getting Caught in the Rain?

Saturday night I got back from a wonderful and fabulous week in Jamaica: Home of Bob Marley. Luckily for me, I love Bob – as does every single Jamaican as well apparently. It is impossible to grasp the fact I am home now. I want to be back in Jamaica, on the beach, sipping pina coladas, margaritas, daiquiris and so many other delicious drinks. It’s a lifestyle I think I am cut out for, haha! I am about 105% certain I could spend the rest of my life on a beach and be happier than God Himself. Of that I am certain.

I want to be back where “Yeah Mon” and “No Problem” are a consistent and frequent part of daily vocabulary. Back to where being 20 minutes late is not only expected but accepted island-wide. Back to where beautiful places like Dunns River Falls exist. Peacefully. Quietly. And beautiful.

Arriving home was temporarily crushing. Coming home to snow and minus degree temperatures was expected. But wanted? No. Not even a little bit. I miss the smell of Jamaica. I miss the sun. I miss the ocean and the beach. I miss Bob Marley blaring from every passing-by car. I miss Jamaica.

Call Me Crazy. Call Me Obsessed.

Lately, my love of Rob Schneider has turned into a full-blown obsession. There is no other word for it. Obsession. I don’t know what rekindled this new found love … but here it is. Loud and proud. In honour of Rob (and the awesomeness that he is), I’ve decided to make a list of my top five (5) Rob movies:

5. 50 First Dates
Adam Sandler, Drew Barrymore and Rob Schneider. Enough said! <3
4. The Benchwarmers
David Spade and Nick Swardson are hysterical. Rob is perfection as usual.
3. Big Daddy
This movie introduced me to one of my favourites, Leslie Mann!
2. Grown Ups
So many comedians packed into one funny movie!
1. The Hot Chick
I dare you to watch this movie and NOT laugh. It’s impossible.

I Think I am Lost. And I Like It

For the past two days I have handed myself my latest addiction: Lost. Until this weekend I had never seen a single episode of the series and let me say, I wish I started watching earlier. What an amazing series. I think I was hooked from the very first moment of episode one. I’ve fallen in love with each and every one of the characters and cannot wait to see their stories develop.

Goodbye to You

Anyone that has been following me on Twitter knows I am a HUGE Detroit Red Wings fan, but I am specifically a huge fan of Todd Bertuzzi. I am heartbroken right now. The Wings lost in game 5 last night against the San Jose Sharks resulting in elimination. I am choked, devastated and saddened – cannot believe it happened. Hopefully, Detroit can pull off a win next season and Mr. Bertuzzi will be apart of the team. Love the Red Wings! Celebrate the Red Wings!

Sticks and Stones May Break Your Bones

I am officially a klutz. I fell on the stairs yesterday and broke 2 toes and managed to sprain and bruise the bone of my right foot. It hurts so much. I’ve never broken any bones before, so this is a first – and let me tell you, it hurts! I tried taking a picture of my foot because it is literally black-blue and extremely swollen, but I couldn’t get the resolution to work properly on the camera. My foot looked like it was glowing an exceptionally pale white alien-like colour. I’ll play around with the settings a little more and see what I can come up with.

Work has never been more solemn or sad before today. One of our longtime sales reps was fired. His firing came as a complete shocker to the entire office (even management), everyone has become completely unsettled by today’s events. It’s heartbreaking and not sitting right in the pit of my stomach.
