I Know the Words, But I Cannot Really Speak Them

What an afternoon, the Detroit Red Wings played the Phoenix Coyotes today … unfortunately, Detroit lost. I hear you saying, “Rachel, you’re a Canadian girl from Winnipeg. What business do you have cheering for Detroit?” And I answer you, “I do not know – but it may have something to do with one of it’s players: Todd Bertuzzi.”

I know Todd has a bit of a reputation in the NHL that unfortunately will likely never be put to rest, but I do not care. I’ve been a fan of Big Bert since before “the incident” and supported him throughout the speculation and criticism. I’m happy to see Todd being a productive player among his Detroit teammates.

If all else fails, I can tell people I cheer on the Winnipeg connection: Darren Helm and Derek Meech. Both boys were born and raised in my hometown of Winnipeg!

Quick, short and simple: I wish I had better photoshop skills. Every time I attempt to create a layout it looks like a kindergarten made it. LOL! I strongly envy those photoshop skilled friends of fine.

Hi everyone,

It’s been quite a long time since I’ve had my collective set up for me to write stuff and blog about my life. I mainly use this site as a collective listing, but the past 2 months have brought so much pain and sadness I realized having an outlet to speak my mind would be useful. Recently I lost someone very important to me and I cannot even find the words to sum up what I am feeling other than sadness. It’s like a boulder crushed my spirit … heart and soul.

It all seems surreal. I float through my daily life and nothing registers. The people don’t matter, the tasks I am doing seem meaningless – just falling into a dark hole.
